War Thunder. You don't "buy" the best planes, so it
comes across that it's not actually pay to win. However if you
don't buy golden eagles you can not convert XP. The game is just a hugeeee
grind if you don't buy lions, research just takes forever and aquiring new
planes is just a chore.
Golden eagles can be obtained both by purchasing them for
real money and during promotional events, for winning places in contests or
tournaments.
The USSR. If you have no strong preference then starting
off with the Soviet Union isn't a bad idea; you get a bonus premium aircraft
for the first country you fly with, and the I-153 that the USSR get is a great
plane, very handy to be able to put straight into service without having to
research and unlock it.
The FV4005 holds the distinction of being the single
largest cannon available in War Thunder Ground Forces at 183 mm, as well as
having a very long single-shell reload with a stock time of 38.9 seconds.
